This chair was in my Grandmothers house for as long as I can remember and needed a bit of love!
It is my first attempt at upholstery and my only regret is I didn't use new batting on the cushion! It's very comfortable yet has some visible lumps due to the old cotton.
The toy box is an antique from my husbands family and didn't match the house so I watered down some white paint with a hint of gray and gave it a face lift! I love how this small sitting area transitions the earth tones from my living room to the black and white theme in my bedroom!

(Decembers Host Special)
This beautiful red bowl measures 12" X 10"
Here is a recipe for a bio-safe flame retardant treatment that you can make at home:
DIY Flame-Retardant Treatment
  • 7 ounces borax
  • 3 ounces boric acid
  • 2 quarts hot water
  • Dissolve and combine the ingredients. Dip or spray decorations in the solution. Safety-test small parts for flame resistance and reapply solution if needed.
